When you work with a REALTOR(R) , you reduce your risk.  Not only are you protected through your realtor’s errors and omissions insurance, but you have the satisfaction of knowing that you are working with an agent who is experienced in the field, bound to a legal code of ethics, has fiduciary obligations and accountability, and is working in your BEST interest.

Growing up in Fernie, and now raising my own family in Jaffray,  while doing most of my personal business in the Cranbrook area, I am very familiar with the East Kootenays.  It is a huge geographical area, and there are several neighborhoods; each with their own micro “real estate climates”.  The greatest challenge buying property in this area, is determining price.  I can you help you determine whether you are paying a fair price for the property you buy.

Another issue, when purchasing in a rural area,  is the complexity of the properties; they are not like the “cookie cutter houses” that you find in the city. Most places have their own well and septic, there are covenants, such as Railway, Hydro, or Interior Health listed on title.  Buying rural properties can require special financing, have different tax implications, and or require contracts written in a non-conventional way as to allow the deal to go through. I have lots of experience with this and I can help you.
